CPD Content Group works with dozens of partners in medical education to develop CME programs across a spectrum of therapeutic areas. Here's just a sampling of what we've been working on lately:
Outcomes Research at EULAR 2017
Publishing CME outcomes data at medical meetings and within the scientific literature is key to moving our field forward. In collaboration with Siyemi Learning, we will present an outcomes study, “Five Years of Experience with the Lupus Academy: An Effective Model for Building a Robust Community of Practice for Geographically Diverse Learners,” at the 2017 European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Annual Meeting in Madrid, Spain, June 14-17, 2017.
Clinical Practice Today
In 2016, Duke Heath and Clinical Practice Today launched a new series of conference coverage featuring Duke researchers. We collaborated with content partner Med-IQ to clarify the goals of the initiative and design a streamlined approach for producing daily conference coverage. To date, we have covered the 2016 American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and 2017 Society for Maternal and Fetal Medicine (SMFM) annual meetings.
Rheumatology Nurse Practice
Now in its third year, Rheumatology Nurse Practice is the official CE-certified newsletter of the Rheumatology Nurses Society. Working in collaboration with MedCaseWriter, we provide rheumatology nurses with the latest updates shaping the management of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The first three issues of 2017 have focused on new small-molecule therapeutics in RA, updates in RA clinical guidelines, and evolving best practices in PsA and AS treatment.
Topic Spotlight: HCV
With multiple new antiviral regimens emerging in the past few years, considerable efforts have focused on educating clinicians who treat patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. With content partners including ASiM, Med-IQ, Practicing Clinicians Exchange, and Pharmacy Times, we've developed CME programs focused on HCV testing and linkage to care; HCV treatment in rural communities and within the VA health system; and HCV treatment in patients struggling with comorbid opioid drug use or chronic kidney disease. We have also developed educational programs targeted for pharmacists (here and here) and for nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in HCV management.
Topic Spotlight: Oncology
In addition to covering conferences such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meetings, we provide content for live and enduring activities focused on a range of tumor types. Recent projects include a webcast series on non-small cell lung cancer, a monograph on renal cell carcinoma, and a symposium report on Hodgkin lymphoma. We are currently working on symposium reports from the 2017 BMT Tandem Meeting on stem-cell mobilization and acute GVHD management for Blood and Marrow Transplantation Reviews.
ASH 2016 Conference Perspectives
Working with the Society for Translational Oncology and The Oncologist, we have covered major oncology conferences since 2013. Most recently, we developed a series of articles covering the latest updates on lymphoma from the 2016 ASH annual meeting. Our reports covered more than 30 ASH abstracts and more than 15,000 words, culminating in an expert interview with key take-home messages for community oncologists.
Over the past 15 years, we've developed hundreds of hours of CME/CPD programs tailored for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers. Please contact us if you would like to see additional project samples in specific disease states.
